Our Product to help

 Kia Ora Everyone,

For our inquiry, we have been inventing a product to make something easier or better. We had to brainstorm our ideas and we have to work on a design process, in which we have to complete questions such as " What is the problem? ". Since we were able to work with a buddy I decided to do this with a buddy.

              

I did this with my buddy, Emily, at first we kinda had some argument because we didn't have the same idea and imagination of what the product would be. Then we decided that we would invent a robotic buddy that carries your stuff for you so you don't get any more backaches when carrying a big bag. It will also come with a watch so your little buddy knows where you are, It will also avoid any obstacles to keep your stuff nice safe. It is not yet finished but probably soon we will finish the plan. maybe in a few years, we might be able to build it. What do you think about our product? What do you think is a good name? In literacy, we have been working on a slide that is called Kiwi Innovators.  

We have to answer read the information that is given to us and answer the question. 

After we have finished the Understand and know we can go on to Create.

This is one of my creates, this creates was very fun to make because we went on a website and made this.

We were allowed to make an animation on whatever we wanted. How did you like it?  Have you learned about some kiwi inventors? Do you have feedback for me?

Imagine a World without trees🚫🌱🌳🚫

This week we presented our speeches to our literacy groups. There were a lot of great ones and also hilarious ones. I did mine about a world without trees.

                        

I did mine about a world without trees because when I was on a road trip with my family I saw tons of trees chopped down and there was a road that was full of trees when I first came to Nz but a few months ago they were chopped down, which made me think " Hmm, how many trees a being chopped down per year". Presenting my speech made me feel really nervous but my teacher ask the group to turn around which made me feel less nervous and I was able to present it. Have you done your speech yet? The Incredible Philippines🇵🇭

 Kia Ora Everyone,

On the first week of term 4, Our school did a cultural diversity day. Where people from different countries can share thing about their country, Me and my friend (Maiyde) are from the Philippines and we made a slide that we shared in front of people who were all wearing their cultural clothing.

   

It was very fun learning more about my country and making the slide with friends. Our teacher even made a slide for everyone to add their work. I got very nervous presenting.

The Animation of Maori language week.

 Kia Ora Everyone,

Last week Korimako hub started a Maori animation. We had to pick a scenery and add the Maori word of the things around our scenery, We were able to team up with a buddy. We picked a kitchen to do. We haven't finished it yet it's still a work in progress.

                         

This was really fun and easy to do and I learned new Maori words. How did you celebrate Maori language? Have you made an animation about Maori kupus? Do you have any feedback?

During our lockdown learning, we did a little science experiment it was an Apple Experiment. We had to cut an apple into quarters then we had to keep them in different liquids like Lemon juice, Salted water, and Vinegar. We had to keep one plain. 

                 

This apple experiment was very fun it was something I had never done before and I really enjoyed it. This was a great experience. Have you done something like this before? What did you do during the lockdown? Do you have any feedback for me?

The fantastic Production night.

II was in the school production of Aladdin, I know it was a few weeks ago so you can call it a late upload but I still really wanted to share my wonderful experiences. I was just an entourage like my friends but it was still very fun. We learned so many dances and songs. We were practicing for weeks specifically  13 weeks or 3 months. I was in cast two and we performed 2 nights.

I also wanted to thank our teachers who help us learn the dances and songs they even went all over Christchurch just to find our costumes and they skipped multiple lunches just to teach us. They even kept the props in their house for weeks. Have you ever been in production? who is your favorite character in Aladdin? Any feedback for me?

The Battle Between the Mountains

Before lockdown, we have been doing animations and art during the afternoons, one of the animations was about the (Battle of the Mountains) Have you heard that that story before? It's quite a good one.

                        

The story was very interesting to me and the activity was very fun.

In cyber smart, we have been learning about how we can write a quilty comment and blog. In our last lesson, we were asked to make a Biteable to share how to make a quilty comment.

This was very easy and fun to make, I haven't used Biteable in a very long time so I had to get used to using it again. I hope you enjoyed the video. Have you ever used Biteable? Have you been learning cyber smart?

Happy term 3, In literacy I have been given a task about what's happening in the world at the moment..."The Olympics " 

So we have been learning about the ancient olympics or the olden day Olympics.

                       

We had to read and research to find the question like, 

When did the ancient Olympics start? How many events were held after they restarted?

It was really to find out new things about the Olympics. I also just found out that the Philippines won their first-ever gold medal from a wonderful woman named Hidilyn Diaz.

My Amazing Maori Animation🇳🇿

 Kia Ora Everyone,

For our Te Reo language lessons, we've been making animation and google drawings on Maori, and today I made an animation about,  KIA TERE - Be Quick, KIA TUPATO - Be careful and KIA TAU- Be still.        It was tons of fun making this and learning new Maori words, I haven't finished it yet but I will work on it.

The Incredible Day of the Pink shirt 💕🌺🌸🐖🍡

𝓚𝓲𝓪 𝓞𝓻𝓪 𝓔𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂𝓸𝓷𝓮,

Today on Friday, May 21 it was pink shirt day at marshland school and everyone looked amazing in their pink shirts. There were even people wearing face paint, Oodies, and even balloons on their backs.            My favorite outfits were definitely boys wearing tutus it was hilarious.

Did you know that the reason that we have a pink shirt day? Do you know where it started?

Well, it actually started in Canada in 2007 when two students took a stand against homophobic bullying after 10 students were harassed for wearing pink. We've started celebrating pink shirt day in 2009.

 In literacy, we've been learning about Anzac Day and also learning about who died and survive in the war, we have also needed to do some activities with a minimum of 7. I have made a slide full of my activities.

MY TEDDY´S GREAT ADVENTURE

 Kia Ora Everyone,

In literacy, we´ve been learning and writing about Anzac Day and all the people who died and survived in the war. We also had to do multiple activities like making a poem, making a family tree, and even make a recipe. But today I am sharing my writing about my own teddy and its adventure. I haven´t finished it but I am close.

We had to do so many activities with a minimum of seven and they took quite a while to finish but when you do more and more of it you can get more use to it.

Why I think that pets should be allowed on public transport.

Kia Ora Everyone,

On Friday we practice our emailing skills by writing an email to our home base teacher about what our opinion is, if we were against or with pets being in public transport, then we put it on a google drawing to label it.
 

                             

It was pretty hard to think of impressive sentences to write about my opinion, I was with pets being on public transport. What is your opinion? Are you Against or With pets being in public transport? Do you have any feedback for me?

 I know that it's very hard to read the picture but this is what it said: 

Dear Mrs. Atkinson,

I believe that pets should be allowed to ride on public transport because what if the owner has anxiety and need their support dog. Also what if the owner is blind they might need their guide dog.

Pets are also good for entertainment for the owner during a long ride. Even though there are some mishaps like allergies, pet not behaving I still believe that pets should be allowed to go on public transport. 

What if the owner doesn't have their own transport and they have a pet and their destination is very far away they would need to ride public transport.

That is why I believe the pet should be able to ride on public transport. Thank you.

Snow White and the Broken Heart

 Kia Ora Everyone,

In literacy, we have been doing freewriting Me and my Best friend Maiyde did a story about snow white but with a little twist.

         

We haven't finished it yet but I promise Me and Maiyde will finish this in no time.

I really like doing free writing because we can write about all our ideas and we get to just a story we want to tell. Do you like doing freewriting? What is your favorite thing to do in literacy? Do you have any feedback you can give me?

My Pepeha

 Kia Ora everyone,

On week 2 of school, we started making our digital pepeha but first, we needed to learn how to make them properly so we wrote them down on a piece of paper, and then we made our own on slides.

                    

We also needed to add a screencastify with us pronouncing our pepeha so they can add a QR code to our pepeha art that we had to draw and dye so we can share with our parents at the celebration assembly.
